- Excepting Native Americans and their descendants, all current residents of Texas are either immigrants or descendants of immigrants.
- Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party and German Chancellor when he initiated WWII with the invasion of Poland in September of 1939.
- Lydon Baines Johnson was born in Johnson City, Texas, August 27, 1908. Dwight David Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas, October 14, 1890; to date, the two men are the only U.S. presidents born in Texas.
