Hating the Sin

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).

As hard as we try, we cannot be friends with everyone we have met.  Some will reject us forthright.  Others will do us some harm.  We may never have had the time to get to know and appreciate each other.

And yes, it is very hard to like somone who has done us serious arm or a person we know as having committed gross sins.

But love the sinner, not the sin is an excellent reminder.  Life is precious, each one, from the unborn to the resurrected.

We are being asked by Jesus, I believe, to see the best in each other while always remembering that each one of us is an imperfect human being.

Love others, love God as you love yourself.  Translated slightly; hate what is evil, wherever evil exists.
