Timpson (2A1), Mart (2A2), Edna (3A1) Gunter (3A2) Begin 2022 with a Bang! Other Traditional Powers Falter

The Edna Cowboys are for real!  They opened 2022 with a huge whomping of East Bernard, 69-0.

As expected, Timpson and Mart messaged that they are well-deserving of their #1 preseason rankings.  In  3AD1 #1 Mount Vernon  was tested by Quinlan Ford but won by 20, 48-20.

Meanwhile, however, Shiner saw its 30 game win streak ended by Hallettsville, 14-7; and defending 3AD1 champion Lorena lost to China Spring, 38-20. Yet more surprising was 3AD1 #2 Brock's loss to Pleasant Grove, 22-7.

Rankings in 2AD1 were the  most volatile in their outcomes ; excepting Edna's astounding win over East Bernard, 3AD2, the most stable. The Cowboys are expected to be in the 3AD1 Top 5  for Week 2, to be announced early next week.
