How Long Can Hawley Stay at #1 in 2AD1?

3By Longhorn Putt

MAYBE only a few days.  Our new #1 in this division, Hawley (8-0), will face a stiff test this Friday, Oct. 28, when it travels into Stamford (7-1). But even with a win the Bearcats ranking would still be in jeopardy, for in the Bearcats final game of the regular season on Nov. 4, they must go against Cisco (7-1) at home:

Cisco inflicted upon Stamford its only loss, 14-47 on Oct. 14.  Cisco's only loss was way back on Sept 9, when 3AD1 Breckenridge (6-2) defeated the Loboes, 27-30.

So, the #1 out of District 4 is itself very much in question.  And several experienced pundits are saying Cisco may really be #1 in the district as well as statewide.

Running back Ashton Cumpton (12)  leads the Hawley attack, with an average rushing yardage per game of 132.8, with 22 TDs.

Tackle Hez Parker is a stalwart on the Hawley defense.

Stamford spreads its rushing out three ways; between Kaston Vega, Cruz Cantu and  Ja’Kain Whitaker.
