Daily Devotion – 25 February

The Good AND the Bad

There's both in us.  Our goal is, or certainly should be, to live the Good and overcome the Bad.

Which is not easty to do.  The potential is always there to be one or the other.

A 16th century priest, Martin Luther, made the basic statement foundational for his Reform:  simul justus et peccator, in Latin, meaning "at the same time good and sinful."

How do we do the Good?  THAT is, of course, the question.

By following the teachings of Jesus, say we Christians.  Or to put it simply, as Saint Augustine did, "Love God, then do as you please."

Loving God means loving his Creation, loving others, loving ourselves, loving life, and, Yes! Loving Jesus.

Have a Great day!
