Daily Devotion – 18-19 March

IN this short time between now and Easter (April 9 in 2023, March 31 in 2024) I invite you to join me in preparation for the best Easter ever.

In some ways, Easter is more important to the faithful than Christmas.  Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus; on Easter, we celebrate our rebirth into eternity.  They ARE different.

But I do not propose that we separate the two.  In the life of the Christ, they belong together, birth and resurrection.

How do we prepare for a resurrection?  First, we confess that we need one, because our sins are so overwhelming, we desire them dead now and forever.

Secondly, we want, powerfully so for most of us, to live on with our God and our Lord and Savior in Heaven for eternity.

Paul expressed our great hope with great insight:  I Corinthians 15:

 “O[Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Let us continue, continue, continue. . . .
