The Seductive Attraction of “Political Incorrectness”

By A Lidden Pate, Jr.

Anyone who has ever said “to hell with it all, I’m going to just be myself” knows how good it feels. Norms of accepted behavior in “polite” company are set aside.  You throw off your tie or whatever is choking you, your tight clothes and the shoes hurting your feet.  You choose not to shower, unless you want to.  And in general, you decide that for a time, short or long, you are simply not going to worry about what the rest of the world thinks.

Oh, how good it is!

Something like this kind of reasoning explains the thinking of many of the voters who elected Donald Trump president and continue to believe in him, rain or shine, and regardless of how inappropriate his words and actions may seem.  In fact, Trump’s followers literally adore  his unconventionality.  It is as though they have said to themselves, “At last, here’s a politician who makes the conformist-enforcers shudder, shake and scatter to the winds."

Trump simply does not care what the “experts” say, nor what past presidents  have accomplished, nor does he have even the slightest desire to imitate their execution of their duties.  Protocol is probably not in his vocabulary. Trump does things “his way” and, yes, while bluntly telling the establishment it can “go to hell.”

Persons who are devoted to the “uniqueness" of their Whiteness, those who may feel themselves "a lesser"  man or woman because their education is limited, who may think themselves inferior because they have never learned to use English any way other than the manner and tone of the language's usage they acquired growing up, who have likely never read the NY Times and who have frequently misread Political Correctors as intentionally aiming to make them  feel inferior—they love Donald Trump, notwithstanding the fact that many persons, like myself, have affirmed to them their eternal worth despite any insufficiencies they may have, as is, I believe, also the case for me and all humans.

Trump  communicates to  protocol-haters that non-elitist, anti-mainstream ways are okay, that  it’s acceptable to be racist, anti-feminist, homophobic, immigrant despisers …. to curse as they wish and shout and scream in any manner they want.  In other words, political incorrectness is a worthy status.

Oh, how good it is!

Unknowingly perhaps, but willingly, these “incorrect" Trumpites have been seduced by a billionaire Con-man from the Queens of New York City known to be an habitual liar exceptionally well-versed in criminality.

But neither the Trumpites nor their leader will have the last word.

Justice will prevail, hopefully soon.  And a troubled nation will once again feel good, really good about itself.

Oh, how wonderful that will be, for us all

  1. Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something completely unique. P.S Apologies
for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  2. I must thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this website.
I’m hoping to check out the same high-grade blog posts from you in the future as
well. In truth, your creative writing abilities has inspired me to get my own site
    now 😉
