In 3A Girls and 3A Boys competition for Tuesday, January 11, 2020, at least four very big games are on tap. In girls’ play, District 2, to name our feature. Shallowater (14-1) and Idalou (14-3) meet in Idalou in what should be, as they say, "a barnburner," to determine who gains the early upper hand.
Another 3A girls game calling for special attention will be a District 20 matchup, also on Tuesday, when Fairfield (24-1) will be hosting Franklin (11-4). And likewise for the Lovelady (21-2) and Port Neches (17-3) 2A District 27 clash to be contested in Neches.
In boys 3A, the defending state champion San Antonio Cole (15-8) will travel but a short distance Tuesday evening to face a surprisingly strong Stockdale (15-6) for the early lead in District.26.
Tonight, Monday, January 10, 3A Blanco will take its 18-3 record into 4A Wimberly’s (18-3) home, in, no doubt, what will be a heated contest between neighbors.
